The Rite

Directed by Mikael Håfström
Written by Matt Baglio, Michael Petroni
Based on The Rite: The Making of a Modern Exorcist by Matt Baglio
Starring Anthony Hopkins, Colin O'Donoghue & Ciarán Hinds
Country: United States
Language: English

Håfström began working on the exorcism thriller in February 2010. Håfström began casting in March for the lead roles of Father Lucas and Michael Kovak, deciding on Anthony Hopkins and Colin O'Donoghue. The film was produced by Beau Flynn and Tripp Vinson under their Contrafilm Studios company.

Inspired by true events, The Rite follows skeptical seminary student Michael Kovak (Colin O'Donoghue), who reluctantly attends exorcism school at the Vatican. While he's in Rome, Michael meets an unorthodox priest, Father Lucas (Anthony Hopkins), who introduces him to the darker side of his faith, uncovering the devil's reach even to one of the holiest places on Earth.

Elijah Wood Will Return In The Hobbit As Frodo

Elijah Wood Will Return In The Hobbit. Elijah Wood looks to be joining The Hobbit movies set to reprise his role of Frodo Baggins according to Deadline. The film makes use of the ending of The Lord of the Rings when Frodo completes the "Red Book of Westmarch" that contains the story of The Hobbit and the trilogy.

As readers of “The Hobbit” know, the tale of “The Downfall of The Lord of the Rings” and “The Hobbit or There and Back Again,” are contained in the fictional “Red Book of Westmarch.” In Peter Jackson’s LOTR films, the books are shown on screen and written in by Bilbo and Frodo and handed off to Sam Gamgee. (Not explained on film are Sam’s progeny later having the book and being Wardens of the Westmarch — hence the book’s title.) The fictional book, and either the telling from it or the reading of it, will establish Frodo in the films experiencing Bilbo’s story. Viewers to learn the tale of ‘The Hobbit’ with a familiar Frodo  getting the tale as well.

A few more LOTR stars are returning in The Hobbit movies including Cate Blanchett as Galadriel, Orlando Bloom as Legolas, Ian McKellen as Gandalf, Andy Serkis as Gollum and Elijah Wood as Frodo Baggins.
Perhaps Hugo Weaving, Liv Tyler & Martin Csokas will join the cast
